Rental Car

Here’s a trick! Take the Metro North to POUGHKEEPSIE. In Poughkeepsie, you can rent a car for a bit cheaper and then drive to Andes from there. Plus you skip the city traffic. The car rental spots are about 5 minutes drive from the train station so most will even pick you up.

What people are saying

“Driving in the city terrifies us; plus it's expensive and overly complicated to rent a car. BUT we love to go upstate and try to do so pretty frequently - we especially love going to Kat's cabin! We take the MetroNorth from Grand Central and rent from either Tarrytown or Poughkeepsie. An Enterprise employee picks us up at the train station and takes us to the car rental place. Call them when you're still on the train, about 10 minutes away, and they'll be there when you arrive. Whether you rent out of Tarrytown or Poughkeepsie, travel time ends up being about the same - just depends on whether you prefer more car time or more train time. If you don't have your own car insurance, renting is pretty pricey. If you're trying to save money, I recommend taking the bus from Port Authority to Andes - it's lovely, cheap, and stress free (for a bus). “ - Mary, drove there once
